Sister Celestine Maria Henshaw SCN HENSHAW, SISTER CELESTINE MARIA, SCN, 92, a native of Morganfield, KY, died at Nazareth Home on Monday, May 17, 2010.
She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 73 years. Sister served in the apostolate of health care in Kentucky, Maryland and Arkansas for 71 years. In Louisville Sister served at Mt. St. Agnes Sanatorium, Our Lady of Peace Hospital, Christopher Nursing Home, SS. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, Jewish Health Care System, Nazareth Home and Hospice.
Survivors include one brother, Joe L. Henshaw of Morganfield, KY; four sisters, Helen Ray of Louisville, KY; Louise Clements, Margaret Thomas and Dorothy Thomas of Morganfield, KY and her religious community. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on May 20, 2010 at Nazareth Home. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. at Nazareth Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 and again from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Nazareth Home. There will be a short Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, KY at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY. Memorials may be made to SCN Missions, P.O. Box 9, Nazareth, KY 40048.
