On May 29 1942 Joe L. Henshaw, born 1920 in Kentucky, then a resident of Union County, Kentucky, enlisted at Evansville, Indiana as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had 4 years of high school, was single, without dependents, and a farmer.  He was recorded as 72" tall, 177 lbs.¹¹  

He married Florence Gertrude Lambert, Feb 14 1946, Kentucky.^1,5  Florence, daughter of Roy + Margaret Lambert, was born Aug 9 1925.^1,12  

Joseph Lester Henshaw died Dec 1 2012^10,13 [Dec 2 2012⁹], Breckinridge Place, Morganfield, Union County, Kentucky^10,13; age 92^10,13.

Joe Henshaw Morganfield, Ky.   Joe Henshaw, 92, of Morganfield, Ky., died Sat., Dec. 1, 2012, at Breckinridge Place in Morganfield.  Survivors are wife, Florence Henshaw; son, Mike Henshaw; daughter, Donna Carrier; sisters, Louise Clements, Dorothy and Margaret Thomas, Helen Ray; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.   Service at 10 a.m. Tues., Dec. 4, 2012, at St. Ann Catholic Church.  Burial in St. Ann Cemetery.  Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Mon. and 9 a.m. until service time Tues. at the funeral home.

Florence died Feb 10 2014, Methodist Hospital Union County, Morganfield, Union County, Kentucky; age 88.¹²

Florence Henshaw Morganfield, Ky Florence Henshaw, 88, of Morganfield, Ky., died Monday, February 10, 2014, at Methodist Hospital Union County.  She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joe Henshaw in 2012; parents, Roy and Margaret Lambert; sister, Josephine Drury; son-in-law, Roy Richard Carrier.  Survivors include a daughter, Donna Carrier, of Morganfield, Ky.; son, Mike Henshaw and wife, Cindy, of Henshaw, Ky.; brother, James Lambert, of Evansville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Rick Carrier and wife, Lee, of Henderson, Ky., Mollyanne Frances and husband, Jay, of St. Louis, Mo., Renee Chilson and husband, Jonathan, of Nashville, Tenn., Mark Henshaw, of Dyersburg, Tenn., Brittany Wagoner, of Dyersburg, Tenn., Natalie O'Nan and husband, Daniel, of Morganfield, Ky., Rachel Carrier, of Morganfield, Ky., and Rebekah Carrier, of Morganfield, Ky.; six great-grandchildren, Anna, Grant, Maggie, Carter, Ashlyn, and Benton.   Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield.  Fr. Freddie Byrd will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with prayers beginning at 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.  Memorial contributions can be made to John Paul II School and St. Anthony's Hospice.
