Born Aug 3 18861,3,4,7,10 [Aug 3 18858,9,12], Pana, Christian County, Illinois1,3,4,7,10 [Nebraska11].  

Clarence was a farmer in the Hudson-Carlock area of McLean County, Illinois.7,13  

He married Lida Mae Russell1,4 [Lydia Russell14], Jan 6 19091,4.  Lida was born Aug 19 1882, Illinois.1,3,4,10,14  

Clarence and family were shown in the 1910 census (May 16 1910), Kansas Township, Woodford County, Illinois:3

Hinshaw, Clarence, head-of-household, age 24, born in Illinois; parents born in Illinois; first marriage, married 1 year; occupation: farmer, general farm; rented farm.
Hinshaw, Lida, wife, age 27, born in Illinois; father born in Ohio; mother born in Illinois; first marriage, married 1 year; 1 child, 1 living.
Hinshaw, Cleo, daughter, age 5 months, born in Illinois; parents born in Illinois.
McClure, William, farm hand, age 27, born in Kansas; parents born in Illinois; single; occupation: laborer, odd jobs.

Lida died Dec 20 1916, Kansas Township, Woodford County, Illinois; age 34.4,10,14,15  Note that Lida died the day her son Virgil was born (presumably from labor).4  

After Lida died, son Virgil was placed (at least for a time) in the care of Clarence's sister Myrtle11 (and perhaps others of the children were sent to live elsewhere also).16  

On Sep 12 [1918] Clarence Lewis Hinshaw, age 33, registered for the World War I draft in Eureka, Woodford County, Illinois.  He declared he was born Aug 3 1885, and was then living in Carlock, McLean County, Illinois, occupied as a farmer.  He declared his nearest relative was Nettie Hinshaw.  He was recorded as medium build, brown eyes, brown hair.8  

Widower Clarence and children were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 8-9 1920), Kansas Township, Woodford County, Illinois (census page very faded):17

Hill, Alice J., servant housekeeper, age 45, born in Ohio; parents born in Ohio; widow; occupation: servant, private family.

He then married Otilla Beck4 [Ottilia Beck10], Mar 14 19314.  Otilla was born Sep 8 1883.4,10  

On Apr 27 1942 Clarence Louis Hinshaw, age 57, registered for the World War II draft at 116 S. Main St., Bloomington, Illinois.  He declared he was born Aug 3 1885 in Pana, Illinois, and was then residing in Carlock, Illinois, a self-employed farmer.  He declared his relative/contact was his wife, Tillie Hinshaw of Carlock.  He was recorded as 5'6" tall, 200 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion.9  

Otilla died Mar 31 1959, buried Hudson Cemetery, Franklin Street, Hudson, McLean County, Illinois.4,10  

He then married Edith Johnson, Jan 17 1962.4  

Edith died Mar 7 1967.4  

Clarence Lewis Hinshaw died Sep 11 1975, buried Hudson Cemetery, Franklin Street, Hudson, McLean County, Illinois.4,7,10,12,14
