Born Oct 8 1937, West Memphis, Crittenden County, Arkansas.2,3

Don's full middle name was simply 'K' (not an initial, so no period).  He was named for the subject of the book "K", by Mary Roberts Rinehart1 [Boston ; New York : Houghton Mifflin Company, 1915 (Cambridge: The Riverside Press); LOC #15016009 - PZ3.R47 K],4 which his mother had been reading during her pregnancy.1

When Don was a baby he had the sweetest smile that looked very much like the smile on a Kewpie doll's face.  So about everyone called him "Kewpie Pie".  That got shortened as he got older and he was called "Pie".  After all, somehow or the other a man six-foot-four inches tall who weighs in around two hundred and fifty pounds doesn't seem to be much of a "Kewpie Pie!"1

Donald was known as "Bucket" in high school because he could eat a bucket of chicken at a sitting.1

He married Carol Jean Ward5, 19595, Imboden, Lawrence County, Arkansas5 [Randolph County, Arkansas6,7].  Carol was born 1941, Arkansas.8

Donald Kay Hinshaw died Aug 26 1984, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.9,10

Donald worked as a geological driller in Texas until he died at the young age of 46 from renal cell carcinoma.  A big man, as all of his brothers are, he enjoyed dancing, drinking, swapping jokes and tall tales with his brothers, fishing, hunting, and his family.1
