Born about 1835, Wilkes County, North Carolina.a

William might have died before 1850 as he apparently was not shown with his parents in the 1850 census.b    However the following William Hinshy family was shown in the 1860 censusc living next door to the Patterson Hinchy family.    This census data makes it seem that William might be the same person as brother Harrison:d

Wm Henshy, male, age 23, born in Tennessee; brickmason; $150 personal property; cannot read or write.
M. Henshy, female, age 26, born in South Carolina; cannot read or write.
F. Richard, male, age 19, born in South Carolina; laborer.
Living next door on one side in 1860 were William's parents,e and on the other side was the family of sister Catherine.f
