MARSHALLTOWN (AP) -- George Hinshaw, 54, commandant for the Iowa Soldier's home here, died this morning in a Marshalltown hospital.
Hinshaw had been in bed since a heart attack September 29. He died shortly after a second attack today.
A former newspaperman, Hinshaw had been commandant since last July when Col. Leslie Switzer left the post because of ill health. He had been adjutant since April, 1941.
Hinshaw had served on papers in Muscatine, Carroll and in Marshalltown.
