Jimmy was the son of Bessie DeMoss by her earlier marriage to George E. Snepp. When Jimmy was about 3 years old his father disappeared, and his mother remarried to Clarence Harrison Hinshaw.7 Jimmy took the Hinshaw name,4,5,6 although it is uncertain if he was formally adopted by Clarence or not.
On Dec 4 1941 Jimmy E. Hinshaw enlisted at Sacramento, California as a private in the U.S. Army. He declared he had a grammar school education, and was single, without dependents. He was recorded as 71" tall, 173 lbs.5,6
He married Delores Jean Stickle.1,2 Delores, daughter of - Stickle & - Ramsey, was born Aug 4 1932, Decatur, Illinois.2,3,4
