One of the first of the engagements, the announcement of which will mark the close of the vacation season and the beginning of the social activities of the winter became known yesterday when Miss Irene Patricia O'Connor told the interesting news of her betrothal to Tyler Henshaw. Miss O'Connor is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. O'Connor of Harrison boulevard, and is a pretty girl of great charm and talent. She is a graduate of the University of California with the class of 1912 and was prominent in sorority affairs in college. Following her graduation she went East, where she won marked success with her gifts of song and expression. Henshaw is the son of Judge Frederick Henshaw and Mrs. Grace Tubbs Henshaw, and is the brother of Fritz Henshaw, whose sudden marriage to Mary Gwendolen Casedy Henderson and honeymoon trip to Honolulu surprised society a month or so ago. The Henshaw family is one of the most prominent in the bay section. Tyler Henshaw graduated from the State University in 1911. He is a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and is now reading law in the offices of Garret McEnerney of San Francisco.
Miss O'Connor, since her return to the bay cities in the spring, has made her home with her parents. She is now staying in the Santa Cruz mountains as the house guest of the Henshaws. No date for the wedding has been announced.
Tyler's marriage was noted in the "Oakland Tribune" (Oakland, California) on Sunday morning, August 24, 1913:6
IN A SETTING of pink roses and amaryllis effectively combined with dainty greenery, the wedding of Miss Irene Patricia O'Connor and Tyler Tubbs Henshaw was solemnized last evening at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. O'Connor in Harrison boulevard. Only the immediate relatives of the two families were present for the occasion. Rev. Francis X. Morrison, pastor of St. Joseph's church in Berkeley, read the service.
The wedding began at 8:30 o'clock with the customary wedding march of Lohengrin played by Miss Alice Davies, violiniste, and her accompanist. Preceding the bridal procession were the Misses Jean Helen Andre and Elinor May Davis, cousins of the bride, the two little ribbon bearers in dainty French frocks of pink and white, carrying baskets of pink roses tied with satin ribbon. Mrs. Beverly Wilder, nee Earl, followed as matron of honor. Mrs. Wilder wore her wedding gown of white Irish lace and charmeuse, and carried a shower bouquet of Cecil Breuner roses and lillies of the valley.
The bride's gown was a dainty creation of white satin charmeuse and chantilly lace and tulle. The bodice, made with bertha effect, was slightly low in the neck, the front being of point lace and pearl beads. A tunic of chantilly lace was draped gracefully over the skirt of the gown and was caught up effectively over a square court train with sprays of orange blossoms. To complete the costume the bride wore a long bridal veil of the sheerest tule, which was brought into a cap effect arranged with a wreath of orange blossoms, the edges being of fine point lace, carrying out the girlish countour of the face. The shower bouquet was of white orchids and lillies of the valley.
Andrew Burke of San Francisco attended the groom as best man.
Among those present were Mrs. Loraine Langstroth, Mrs. Grace Tubbs Henshaw, Mrs. George Greenwood, Mrs. Edward Hall, relatives of Tyler Henshaw, and others of the immediate families.
After an informal reception following the wedding ceremony the couple left immediately on their honeymoon trip, presumably to the high Sierras. On their return they will reside in San Francisco, where Henshaw is practicing law. He is the son of Mrs. Grace Tubbs Henshaw of East Oakland and Judge Frederick Henshaw of San Francisco. The wedding was the outcome of a romance begun when both were students at the University of California. After her graduation Miss O'Connor spent two or three [...smudged...] the study of music and reading. The groom is a brother of Fritz and Stuart [...smudged...].
Miss O'Connor is the daughter of a well known Oakland family, her brother, Grover O'Connor, is a young lawyer practicing with the firm of [...smudged...] Dahl. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. O'Connor.

Tyler Henshaw, 23 years of age, son of Associate Justice Henshaw of the Supreme Court and a resident of this city, died at noon Friday of typhoid fever in St. Francis Hospital, San Francisco. A month ago young Henshaw was married to Irene Patricia O'Conner, who was a classmate of her husband in the University of California.
Irene remarried to Carlo Morbio, Jun 14 1921, Los Angeles, California.11
