He declared his nearest relative was his father, E.E. Henshaw of East Aurora, New York. He was recorded as tall, stout, brown eyes, dark hair.5
He then married Ruth Larkins9 [Ruth Z. Larkin1,10], Apr 27 19199, Volusia County, Florida9. Ruth was born Sep 24 1896, Georgia.1,2,3,8,10,11,12

Edward was the first full-time paid fire chief of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He served from 1923 - 1947. Edward and his family lived above the fire station, with a fire pole in their living room.13
