LOIS HINSHAW WELLMAN, 87, of Huntington, widow of James Floyd Wellman, died Friday at home.  Arrangements incomplete at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.

Lois' death was again noted in "The Herald-Dispatch" (Huntington, West Virginia) on Tuesday, December 17, 2002:13

LOIS HINSHAW WELLMAN, 97 [sic], of Huntington, widow of James Floyd Wellman, died Friday at home.  Funeral 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.  Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lois' obituary was published in "The Herald-Dispatch" (Huntington, West Virginia) on Wednesday, December 18, 2002:14,15

LOIS HINSHAW WELLMAN, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., died Friday, December 13, 2002, at home.  Lois was born in Huntington, a daughter of the late Clinton and Edith Marie Burns Hinshaw.  She was the widow of James Floyd Wellman.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Malcolm, Bill and Bob Hinshaw and two sisters, Virginia Axford and Hope Danford.  She will be missed by survivors including a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ben Price of Proctorville, Ohio.  Lois has a daughter and son-in-law Diana and Herald Dean of Roanoke, Va.; and granddaughter and her husband, Ladonna and Jimmy Brown; and a son and daughter-in-law, James and Lynn Wellman and granddaughter Ashley of Pretoria, South Africa.  There are numerous nieces and nephews.  Lois will be remembered for her many activities at Central Christian Church where she was a lifelong member.  The family would like to like thank Margaret Dement for five months of tender loving care and Herald Dean for his understanding while Diana spent the last six months caring for her mother.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and services Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington.  The Rev. David Chafin will officiate.  Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
