Born Aug 10 1920, near Sheridan, Hamilton County, Indiana.1,2  

Kathleen attended schools in Encino, Canoga Park, and Van Nuys, California.  After her family returned to Indiana in 1937, she graduated in 1938 from Pittsboro High School.1  

She married Jasper Fred Bowen, May 23 1939, at her parents' farm near Pittsboro, Hendricks County, Indiana.1  Jasper, son of Emanuel Harvey Bowen & Middie Eunice Douglas, was born May 14 1918, on his parents farm, near Bogard, Missouri.1,3,4

John William Bowen, born Oct 15 1940; married Judith Ann Roudebush.
Danny Ray Bowen, born Jul 14 1942; married Leslie Ann Bradley.
Carl Allen Bowen, born Jan 5 1944; married Trena Massey.

Kathleen is a talented artist; she has painted many pictures and teaches a weekly art class.1  

Jasper died Mar 30 2010, buried Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.3,4,5  

Fred's obituary was published in the "Indianapolis Star" (Indianapolis, Indiana) on April 1, 2010:3

Jasper Fred Bowen went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 30, 2010.  He was born May 14, 1918 near Bogard, MO.  He was the 9th of 10 children born to Emanuel and Middie (Douglas) Bowen.  He was baptized into Christ at the age of 12.  A few years after his father died, he moved with the rest of his family to Advance, IN, where he graduated from high school.  While working as a hired hand for a farmer near Lebanon, IN Fred met and married Kathleen Hinshaw.  Fred worked at Richardson Rubber Co. in Indianapolis until 1946 when he moved his family to Fishers.  He rented the Vina Lee Farm where Fred and Kathy raised their three sons during the next 17 years.  Fred and Kathy moved into a new home in Fishers in 1963 where they have lived for the last 47 years.  Besides farming, Fred worked at Chrysler Corporation for four years; then 23 years at Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1980.  Fred and Kathy were ushers for 29 years at Market Square Arena and Conseco Fieldhouse, retiring in 2003.  Fred was a member of the Fishers Lions Club and Masonic Lodge.  He was a long time member and former elder of Cumberland Road Christian Church.  Survivors include his wife Kathleen (Kathy); three sons, John, Danny and Carl Bowen; 10 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cumberland Road Christian Church, 12625 Cumberland Rd., Fishers, IN 46038, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
