On May 1 1917 David Guy Henshaw enlisted in the U.S. Army at Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Discharged Sep 1 1917, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.12  

On Jun 5 1918 David Guy Henshaw, age 24 [unclear], registered for the World War I draft in Creek County, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born February 5 1894 in Enid, Oklahoma, and he was then residing in Bristow, Oklahoma where he was single and self-employed.  He declared his father was born in Indiana.  He declared his nearest relative was Dr. F.A. Henshaw of Hot Springs, Arkansas.  He was recorded as tall, brown eyes, dark hair.  He claimed an exemption because "was discharged from army account of rupture etc."5  

David was shown in the 1930 census (Apr 2 1930), City Jail, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma:10

He married Birdie Inez Snow, Feb 19 1934, Sebastian County, Arkansas.1,13,14  Birdie, daughter of George Snow & Sarah Eugenia Thomas, was born Apr 14 1908, Tuttle, Grady County, Oklahoma.1,7,8,15,16,17
