Raymond Barbknecht Wisconsin / East Gary

Raymond Barbknecht, 47, of Hixton, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, August 14 1998 at Twin Sisters Peak, Larimer County, CO.  Mr. Barbknecht was born July 1, 1951 in East Gary, IN., the son of Robert and Wanietta (Hahn) Barbknecht.  He was a resident of Hixton, WI., since 1977.  He was a graduate of Earlham College, Richmond, IN. and received a Masters degree in elementary-high school guidance counseling from Stout University in Menomonee, WI.  He was a elementary education guidance counselor at Lincoln Elementary School, Merrillan, WI.  He was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association and was an active member of 4-H.  On June 8, 1974, in Richmond, IN. he married Esther Hinshaw, and she survives.  Survivors also include a daughter, Andrea Barbknecht and a son, Lucas Barbknecht; both of Northfield Township, WI; his father, Robert Barbknecht of Lake Station, IN; a sister, Pat (Tom) Stansifer of Decatur, MI. and a brother, James (Pam) Barbknecht of Valparaiso, IN.  and six nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanietta, in 1983.  A memorial service was held Saturday, August 22, 1998 at Lincoln Elementary School in Merrillan. WI.  Memorials may be made to "Lincoln Schools Ray Barbknecht Memorial Fund" to meet needs of elementary students.  Send c/o Lincoln Schools, PO Box 38, Alma Center, WI 54611.  Memorial contributions may also be made to the "Barbknecht Children's Education".
