He then married Edna Louise Ward, Jul 12 1954, Logan County, Arkansas.177    Edna, daughter of Hoarce Ward & Effie Jewell Swiney, was born Apr 1 1933, Farmersville, Texas.177
Edna was named after her aunt Edna Ward Kinney.177
Chester met Edna in a tuberculosis sanitarium where he spent 5 years.177

After Edna died, Chester was in bad health and couldn't care for small children, so his children were placed in foster care with Mr. & Mrs. Henry Lovie Laird of Pioneer, Louisiana, who raised the children to adulthood.e,f
