He married Ida Cooper, Sep 10 1881, Henry County, Indiana.1,7,9  Ida, daughter of Robert Holliday Cooper & Margaret Haworth1,10, was born Sep 10 18581,10 [Sep 3 185811, Sep 31 18587, Sep - 18592,3], Cadiz, Green Township, Harrison County, Ohio1,10.  

In 1888 Edmund was the Principal of Fairbury High School, Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska.12  In 1894 he was President of the Board of Education, Fairbury, Nebraska.13  

Edmund was the prosecuting attorney of Jefferson County, Nebraska for two terms from Jan 1, 1895 to Jan 1, 1899.  In November, 1902, Edmund was elected as a Republican to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the Fourth Congressional District of Nebraska in the 58th-61st U.S. Congresses from March 4, 1903 to March 4, 1911.1,6

Ida J., born September, 3, 1858, is the wife of Hon. Edward Hinshaw, a prominent attorney, politician and statesman of Nebraska, and now a candidate for the legislature; Mr. Hinshaw was graduated from Butler University at Indianapolis, went to Nebraska some years ago and soon rose to prominence in the professional and political circles of that state, having at one time lacked but a few votes of being elected to the United States senate ...

Edmund Howard Hinshaw died Jun 15 1932, Los Angeles, California; buried Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, California.6
