Born 1820, McMurry County, Tennessee.1
She married A. C. Ridgeway, Mar 18 1849, Williamson County, Illinois.2 A. was born about 1811, Virginia.3 Note: this marriage record is not known for certain to refer to this particular Sarah Hinshaw, but it is believed to be this Sarah since this is the only known Hinshaw family living in the 1840s in Williamson County, Illinois.
Sarah and husband were shown in the 1850 census (Dec 16 1850), living with what appears to be her husband's siblings in Williamson County, Illinois:3
A C Ridgeway, age 39, born in Virginia; farmer; $150 real estate.
Sarah J Ridgeway, age 22, born in Tennessee; cannot read or write.
William H Ridgeway, age 18, born in Tennessee; farmer.
Mary C Ridgeway, age 11, born in Tennessee.
John H Ridgeway, age 10, born in Tennessee.
Richard A Ridgeway, age 8, born in Tennessee.
James H Ridgeway, age 4, born in Missouri.
Samuel C Ridgeway, age 4 months, born in Illinois.
