Murphy of Lawrence has chosen Friday, Sept. 3 as the date of her marriage to Mr. David Stuart Savory.  The ceremony will be performed at 4 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal church in Lawrence.  The Savory family will all be here for the double occasion; Dr. and Mrs. John Savory and children of Northern Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. George Savory, Mrs. George Savory's mother Mrs. Robert Donovan of New York City, and Dr. and Mrs. Paul Savory and daughter of Lima, O.

SAVORY-HINSHAW

In an impressive ceremony the marriage of Miss Mary Dorthea Savory, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Charles Savory, to Mr. Charles Keith Hinshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lloyd Hinshaw, Kansas City, Kas., was solemnized this morning at 10 o'clock at the Trinity Episcopal church.  The Rev. Richard Baker officiated at the double ring ceremony.  Michaelmas daisies, lemon leaves and ivy decorated the chancel and the altar, which was lighted with tapers held in candelabra.  Mr. William Stanton, jr., played a medley of classical music as the guests were assembling and the traditional wedding marches.  The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a traditional wedding gown of ivory satin fashioned with an inserted yoke of heirloom rosepoint lace of her grandmother's, Mrs. S. G. Guerrier.  The leg-o-mutton sleeves were long and the full skirt fell over hoops and lengthened into a train.  Her veil of Brussels point lace, belonging to Miss Florence Barth, fell shoulder length and carried a bouquet of stephanotis and malice in a crescent arrangement.  The bride's attendants were Mrs. A. Patrick Price, matron of honor, and Mrs. Charles Franzke, Lawrence, Mrs. Davis S. Savory, Lawrence, and Miss Jacqueline Nolder, San Angelo, Tex., bridesmaids.  They wore identical gowns of nile green taffeta, matchhing [sic] headbands and carried bouquets of Piccardy gladioli in crescent arrangements.  Mr. John T. Blake, Kansas City, was the groom's best man and ushers were Mr. David S. Savory, Lawrence, Mr. Philip Savory and Mr. Wayne Hilton, Salina.  George Savory, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Savory, East Jordan, Mich., carried the rings on a white satin pillow.  The reception immediately followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, 210 East Mound street.  Garden flowers decorated the interior of the home.  Assisting in the dining room were Mrs. John Savory, East Jordan, Mich.; Mrs. George Savory, New York, N.Y., Mrs. Paul Savory, Lima, O., sisters-in-law of the bride and Mrs. Harry McDuff, Omaha, aunt of the bride.  For a wedding trip to Colorado the bride wore a green wool suit, gray accessories and a corsage of white orchids.  Upon their return they will be at home at 1202 Rhode Island, Lawrence.  Mrs. Hinshaw attended preparatory school at Boston, Mount St. Scholastica college, Atchison; the University of Minnesota and Kansas university where she received her degree.  Mr. Hinshaw attended New Mexico Military Institute at Roswell, N.M., Pembroke Country Day school in Kansas City and Kansas university where he is now a senior.  Out-of-town guests included Dr. and Mrs. John Savory and three sons, East Jordan, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. George Savory and Mrs. Savory's mother, Mrs. Robert Donovan, New York, N.Y.; Dr. and Mrs. Paul Savory, Lima, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry McDuff and son, Harry McDuff, Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. C. Lloyd Hinshaw, Kansas City and numerous friends and relatives of the groom from Kansas City.
