Born about 1794, North Carolina.2  (c1799).3  (c1796).4  

During the War of 1812, Bartlett was in the First Regiment, Orange County, North Carolina.7  

He married Vicey Horn1,5 [Viney Horne9], Jan 3 18181,5, Orange County, North Carolina1,5.  A marriage bond was recorded for Bartlet Hinchey & Vicey Horn on Jan 3 1818, Orange County, North Carolina.  Bondsman: John C Geer.  Witness: J. Taylor, Jr.8  

Vicey, daughter of Joshua Horne & Michel "Mikey" Rhodes, was born 1796, North Carolina.1,3,9  

Bartlett was shown in the 1820 census, Orange County, North Carolina (page 378).6  Also shown were his father David Hinchey, and also Levi Hinchey who was probably closely related (perhaps a brother).  

Vicey (Viney Hinchey) was named (and bequeathed 5 shillings) in the will of her father, John Horne Sr., May 28 1829.10  

Bartlett and family were shown in the 1850 census (Dec 12 1850), Henry County, Tennessee, as follows:2

Bartlett Hinchey, age 56, born in North Carolina; farmer; $1000 real estate.
David Hinchey, age 28, born in North Carolina; Constable.
Elizabeth Hinchey, age 28, born in North Carolina.
Visey Hinchey, age 18, born in Tennessee.
Living next door in 1850 was the family of son John B. Hinchey.11

Vicy Hinchey, age 64, born in North Carolina.
David A. Hinchey, age 40, born in North Carolina; farmer; $500 personal property.
W.A. Horn, male, age 16, born in North Carolina; farmer.
Ann Horn, age 14, born in North Carolina.
Living next door on one side in 1860 was the family of son John B. Hinchey;12 next door on the other side was the family of son William Hinchey.13  

Bartlett and family were shown in the 1870 census (Jun 20 1870), Henry County, Tennessee:4

Hinchy, D., age 48 [unclear], born in North Carolina; farmer.
Hinchy, B., age 74, born in North Carolina; $3000 real estate.
Hinchy, C., female, age 35, born in Tennessee.
Living next door in 1870 were the families of sons Joshua14 and William.15  

In 1883 a list of pensioners was created for the 47th U.S. Congress.  Included in the list of pensioners was Bartlett Hinchey, postoffice Paris, Tennessee, Henry County.  Served in the War of 1812.  Pensioned October 1871.16
