Although the Quaker record abstracts show his name as "Abijah", he has always been known within the family as "Ahijah".4,6  This was probably due to an error in the abstracts8,9 - the original Quaker record books were handwritten and possibly hard to read, and it was probably easy to mistake a 'b' for an 'h'.
