He married Catharina Oberkirsh, 1825.1 Catharina, daughter of Philip Oberkirsh, was born about 1800, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 (c1804).4
David and Catharina both lived in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania at the time of their marriage.1 Their wedding was reported in the Harrisburg Chronicle, February 7 1825.1
David and Catharina lived in Lower Paxton Township after their marriage, later moving to Steelton.1 After David's father's death, they moved to the family homestead in South Hanover Township, where David lived for the rest of his life.1
In 1839 David was administrator of his father's estate.1
