Adelia Frances Hinchee died Feb 18 1939, at her home, Tallula, Menard County, Illinois; buried Newmansville Cemetery, Cass County, Illinois.2  

Adelia's obituary appeared in "The Petersburg Observer", Friday, February 24, 1939, as follows:2

MRS. ADELIA SAPP

Mrs. Adelia Sapp, wife of the late Alexander Sapp died at her home in Tallula at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, February 18.  She has been ill over a year.  Mrs. Sapp was born in Cass County January 19, 1858, the daughter of Isaac and Hannah Hinchee.  On July 16, 1881, she was married to Alexander Sapp and to this union was born 2 sons, Earl, deceased, and George Orland, at home.  Mr. Sapp preceded her in death over 20 years ago.  She is survived by the above named son, two brothers, Emery Hinchee of Chandlerville, and Rezin, of Tallula, and several nieces and nephews.  She was member of the Tallula Presbyterian Church and was a constant attendant until her health failed.  

Funeral services were conducted from the family residence Monday at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. C. Frank Janssen of Morrisonville.  Music was rendered by Misses Elizabeth Pogge, Sarah O'Neal, and Mrs. Adolph Knodel.  Flowers carried by Mrs. Edgar Garner, Miss Margaret Scott, Olga Howard and Violet Light.  Pall bearers were Thelbert Bryant, Lloyd Maddox, Edgar Garner, Louis Legendre, John Maurer, and Troy Carter.  Interment was in Newmansville Cemetery.  

Among those out-of-town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Emory Hinchee of Chandlerville, Mrs. Olive Hinchee and daughter Lela and sons Loran and Elwin, Mr. and Mrs. William Koch, Mrs. Frank Hinchee of Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Allen of Pleasant Plains, Mrs. Elizabeth O'Brien and son William and daughter Ruth of Petersburg.  

G.O. Sapp wishes to thank friends and neighbors who were kind to him during the illness and following the death of his Mother.
