Robert Howie Henshaw, 51, a husband, dad and friend, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, after an 18-month battle with cancer.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007, at St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 380 N.W. Tarrant, Burleson. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Max Henshaw Education Fund, HBank Texas, P.O. Box 2327, Grapevine 76099.
Howie was born in Fort Worth on Oct. 27, 1955, to Clyde "Jack" and Mary Louise Henshaw. Raised in Fort Worth, Howie graduated from Arlington Heights High School, attended UTA and since 1984 had run the family business, Cousin's Cleaners in Fort Worth.
Howie married his best friend, Melanie Breeze Henshaw, on June 22, 1985. Throughout their 22-year marriage, Howie and Melanie enjoyed many hobbies, crazy exploits and travels together. Their greatest adventure, Max Christopher Henshaw, joined the family on March 21, 2001.
Howie was a jack of all trades and could build or fix anything. He enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, restoring vintage cars, coaching and playing softball, coin and stamp collecting, flying kites, storm chasing and riding his Harley. He was a master at shooting water balloons and was a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (A.C.E.)
