Born Jun - 1846, Miller's Creek, Wilkes County, North Carolina.13  (1848).2,12,14  Thomas Jefferson and brother James Madison were twins.1,20  (although they were shown as the same age in the 1860 census,20 they were shown with different ages in the 1900 census).13  

He married Martha Shoemate10,12,18,21 [Martha Shumate22], Oct 24 186810,12,18,21, at her parents' house, Wilkes County, North Carolina10,12,18,21.  Marriage by Henry Jinnings, J.P.21  Martha, daughter of John Shoemate & Nancy Handy, was born about 1851, North Carolina.2,18,21,23  

A marriage bond was recorded on Oct 22 1868 in Wilkes County, North Carolina for Thomas J. Hinchey and Martha Shoemate.  They were married two days later by Henry Jinnings, J.P.18,19

Living nearby in 1870 was father William Hincher (page 335), brothers William P. Hincher24 and James Hencher (page 335),25 and also an unidentified George Hincher.26  

Thomas and Martha were divorced,27 apparently about 1880.3,14

Martha remarried to a - Reynolds.8  Martha was shown in the 1910 census, widowed, living next door to the family of daughter Phoebe on Roaring River Road, Mulberry Township, Wilkes County, North Carolina:28

He then married Millie Ann Absher10,12,14 [Ann Absher12], about 188210,12,14.  Millie, daughter of Allen Absher & Melian Stamper, was born 1861, Miller's Creek, Wilkes County, North Carolina.12,14  Millie was one fourth Cherokee Indian.10  

Thomas lived on Blackjack Mountain, on the south side of Stone Mountain, Wilkes County, North Carolina.1

Thomas Jefferson Hincher died Jan - 1926.10,12  Thomas disappeared while taking a trip in January, 1926 to Alert, near Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina.  He was carrying cash and gifts to family members in Orange County, and was never seen again.  His body was never found.10
