Zebedee was a dairy farmer.7  

He married Caroline Cox, Mar 9 1882.1,2,3,5,7  Caroline, daughter of David Cox & Asenath Hinshaw, was born May 7 1858, Randolph County, North Carolina.1,2,3,5,7,9,10  

Zebedee and Caroline were 5th cousins.  Note that Zebedee's sister Sabra married Caroline's brother, Simeon Cox, and Zebedee's other sister Hannah married Caroline's other brother, Zeno Cox (the three Hinshaw siblings married Cox siblings, all 5th cousins).  

Caroline Cox Hinshaw was the first telephone operator in the Climax, N.C.  area, which she operated out of her home.  She was also a midwife, weaver, and tailor.7  

At Holly Spring MM on 1-19-1884, Caroline was granted a certificate to Center MM.1  

At Center MM on 2-16-1884, Caroline was received on a certificate from Holly Spring MM dated 1-19-1884.1
