During World War II Victor served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army.^7,8,9 On May 1 1945 Victor V. Hinshaw, born 1911 in Kansas, then a resident of Cowley County, Kansas, enlisted at Fort Logan, Colorado as a private in the U.S. Army. He declared he had one year of college and was then married.¹⁴
