Suzanne H. Otto Age 84, passed away peacefully in her home on April 9, 2004 with her family at her side. Suzanne spent her youth in Lake Wales, Florida and helped create the Chalet Suzanne Inn with her mother before she married Ernest Otto in 1940. They moved to Mamaroneck, New York where she spent the next 45 years as a member of that community involved in hospital charity work and the library association. In 1989 Suzanne, now widowed, moved to Tiburon, California and became active in the Community Congregational Church and volunteered for many years at St. Anthony's dining room in San Rafael. Suzanne continued to pursue her artistic skills, having moved from her main interest in New York of fine decorative faux paint and golden leafing to collage done at Sight Insight in Mill Valley.
Suzanne was noted for her generosity and adventurous spirit and love of a good time. She often brought a meal to your home during times of crisis or offered an open hand or ride when needed. It is her love of good food, fun, art and travel for which people will remember her.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Community Congregational Church in Tiburon on April 25th at 2:00 PM. Suzanne's ashes will be spread according to her wishes over Lake Suzanne, in Lake Wales, Florida. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Congregational Church, 145 Rockhill Drive, Tiburon, CA 94920 and the St. Vincent de Paul dining room, 820 B Street, San Rafael, CA 94901.
