Maxine Hinshaw, age 89, passed away, Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. Maxine Ada Hinshaw was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Cass County, Ind., to Cora Alice Pryor and Hobart Lewis. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Maxine Hinshaw married Allen Eugene Hinshaw Aug. 25, 1938, in Monrovia, Ind., and he preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1987. Funeral services are Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters: Carolyn Burgess (Mickey) of Columbus, and Mary Lou Darsey (Robert) of West Point; her sons: Max Hinshaw (Wilma) and Kenny Hinshaw (Debbie) all of West Point; eight grandchildren; Teresa Osbirn (Scottie), Paul Hinshaw, Brad Burgess (Coy), Katye Reese (Jason), Anne Noble (Dave), Rebecca DeSantis (Andy), Ben Darsey (Shonda) and Janna Darsey; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Florence Taylor of Mooresville, Ind.
Pallbearers are Paul Hinshaw, Ben Darsey, Brad Burgess, Justin Osbirn, Jason Reece, and Andy DeSautis.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. T. N. Braddock, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., The Wesley Wasson Sunday School Class, and the Marcella Joiner Circle.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 293, West Point, MS 39773 or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation is today, from 3 - 6 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
