Buddy was a kind man with a generous heart who lived one day at a time, and who wanted very little from life. He was employed with the Department of Highways for a number of years, and was known to be an excellent welder. As a young man, Buddy enjoyed stock car racing, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He led a very interesting and colorful life and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his common-law wife, Carol Hewey; sister, Phyllis Harvey. Buddy is survived by daughters, Julia MacAlpine, Fredericton, N.B.; Cassandra Cropley (Russell), Torbrook; son, Gregory Henshaw (Melody), Bear River East; stepchildren, Anita Morgan-Wentzell (Peter), Wilmot; Susan Gillis, Halifax; Terry Morgan (Elisa), Waldec; and Larry Morgan (Christine), Bear River East. Also surviving are sister, Regina Ruggles (Walter), Bear River; brothers, Glendon Henshaw (Erna), Deep Brook; and Calvin Henshaw (Eileen), Upper Clements, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At Buddy's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. His life will be celebrated and his ashes spread in Victory at a small gathering of family and friends at a later date.
