Thomas William Hinshaw died Jun 1 1906, near Huntland, Franklin County, Tennessee; buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.^2,4,7,8

Thomas was killed by lightning.^5,7 He and his great uncle, Albert Hinshaw were hauling wood near Huntland, Tennessee when an electrical storm came up. They sought shelter in an old barn. While standing in the doorway of the old barn, a lightning bolt struck Thomas and killed him.⁵

Widow Vina and family were shown in the 1910 census (May 5 1910), Larkin Creek and Huntland Road, Harmony Precinct, Jackson County, Alabama:³

Vina died Feb 8 1916, Francisco, Jackson County, Alabama; buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.^4,7

Vina (slangly pronounced "Viney"), died after tending to a neighbor's family who all had pneumonia. Vina waded snow to tend to the family, and developed pneumonia herself, dying three days later.⁵
