He married Vina Arebalah Counts9,10 [Vina Arvella Counts5], Sep 4 18899,10, Jackson County, Alabama9,10.  Vina, daughter of Andrew Jackson Counts & Elizabeth J. Hardin, was born Sep 27 1869, Scottsboro, Jackson County, Alabama.1,7,10  (c1868).3

Hinshaw, Viney R., wife, age 30, born Sep 1869 in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; married 11 years; 5 children, 4 living.
Hinshaw, William J., son, age 9, born Nov 1890 in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Hinshaw, Mary A., daughter, age 5, born Mch 1895 in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Hinshaw, Ira E., son, age 4, born Jun 1896 in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Hinshaw, John Y., son, age 1, born May 1899 in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.

Thomas William Hinshaw died Jun 1 1906, near Huntland, Franklin County, Tennessee; buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.2,4,7,8  

Thomas was killed by lightning.5,7  He and his great uncle, Albert Hinshaw were hauling wood near Huntland, Tennessee when an electrical storm came up.  They sought shelter in an old barn.  While standing in the doorway of the old barn, a lightning bolt struck Thomas and killed him.5

Hinshaw, Anna, daughter, age 15, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school; occupation: laborer, general farm.
Hinshaw, Ira E., son, age 13, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school; occupation: laborer, general farm.
Hinshaw, John Y., son, age 11, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school; occupation: laborer, general farm.
Hinshaw, Louie L., daughter, age 9, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school.
Hinshaw, James T., son, age 7, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama; attended school.
Hinshaw, Nancy M., daughter, age 5, born in Alabama; parents born in Alabama.
Living next door in 1910 was son William with his wife.12  

Vina died Feb 8 1916, Francisco, Jackson County, Alabama; buried Beech Grove Cemetery, Jackson County, Alabama.4,7  

Vina (slangly pronounced "Viney"), died after tending to a neighbor's family who all had pneumonia.  Vina waded snow to tend to the family, and developed pneumonia herself, dying three days later.5  

Vina's gravestone is engraved with "She was a kind and affectionate wife".4  

Also buried near Thomas & Vina is daughter Betty Hinshaw.4
