She married Robert Lee Hill, Feb 19 1907.1,6  Robert, son of George William + Mary E. Hill, was born Jul 7 1866, Chestnut Ridge, near Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia.1,2,6,7  

Robert had been previously married1 to Susan Kincannon (Cannie) Neff on Mar 7 1893 (she had died Sep 17 1905), by whom he has a son:6

William Lee "Bill" Hill, born Jan 15 1899, Chilhowie, Virginia; died Jul 18 1964, Maryland; married Margaret Morris (child: Richard Lee Hill).

Cannie's sister Belle had a son by the husband of their sister Sarah, and this son, Robert Criger, was taken-in by Cannie and Robert and raised by them6 (and he assumed the name Robert Hill, sometimes Robert Hill Jr.).  

Cannie had no children of her own, but raised Robert's son "Bill" Hill, sister Belle's son Robert (Criger) Hill, and an orphan named Oland Harmon.6

Hill, Robert E., nephew, age 7, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia.
Hanshew, Samuel, father-in-law, age 70, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; first marriage, married 40 years [unclear]; farm laborer, home farm.
Hanshew, Elizabeth, mother-in-law, age 65, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; first marriage, married 40 years [unclear]; 5 children, 4 living.

Cannie and Robert were again shown in the 1930 census (Apr 17 1930), Smyth County, Virginia:8

Hill, Robert L., head-of-household, age 63, born in Virginia; father born in South Carolina; mother born in Virginia; first married at age 27; owned home; no radio in home; occupation: farmer, general farming; not a veteran.
Hill, Callie [unclear] C., wife, age 48, born in Virginia; parents born in Virginia; first married at age 26 [unclear].

Cannie Christina Hanshew died Apr 3 1947, Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia; buried Riverside Church Chilhowie, Virginia.6,9  Cannie died after a lengthy illness.6  

After Cannie died Robert moved to Washington, D.C. to live with his only son, William Lee Hill.6  

Robert died Mar 31 1949, at the home of his son, Washington, D.C.6
