In 1989 Ira was living in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.6

Ira's obituary appeared in a local newspaper as follows (probably from the Peoria Journal Star):3

Ira Hinshaw
Peoria -- Ira "Blackie" Hinshaw Jr., 71 of 5522 Galena Road, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 1989, in the Galena Park Nursing Home.  Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of ashes were held this morning in the Stouts Grove Cemetery near Danvers.  The Rev. William Peterson officiated.  
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Bartonville, of which he was a member.  
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret P. Harris; one son, George Lee Sr. of Winter Park, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Sinks of East Peoria; and one brother, Jim Hinshaw of Spring Bay.

Margaret died Aug 7 1995, Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois; buried Stout's Grove Cemetery, Danvers, McLean County, Illinois.2  The following obituary appeared in the "Peoria Journal Star" on Wednesday, August 9, 1995:8

Margaret P. "Midge" Hinshaw, 71, of Galena Park Terrace died at 12:10 a.m.  Monday, Aug. 7, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.  Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Peoria to William Lynn and Edna Iona Chance Harris, she married Ira E. "Blackie" Hinshaw Jr. on Dec. 5, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.  He died July 5, 1989, in Peoria Heights.  She also was preceded in death by two grandchildren.  Surviving are one son, George Lee Sr. of Peoria; four grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; one brother, Billy Coffman of Peoria; and one sister, Mrs. Lionel (Elaine) Cote of Enterprise, Fla.  She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Bartonville.  Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stoutz Grove Cemetery in Danvers.  The Rev. Ken Linder will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Cremation will be accorded.  Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be made to her church.
