He declared he was born July 1 1873, and was then residing in Sheridan, Hamilton County, Indiana where he was a self-employed farmer. He declared his nearest relative was Emma Parr of Sheridan. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark hair.¹¹
