JESTER EAST BEND - Joyce Elizabeth Hinshaw Jester, 85, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Jester was born July 10, 1925 in Yadkin County to O.G. and Florence Hobson Hinshaw. She worked on the farm with her husband and took care of their two children. Mrs. Jester was a loving wife and grandmother and was the greatest mother a child could ever have. She was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jester was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Nell Benton; and two brothers, Steve Hinshaw and Grady Hinshaw. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Howard Jester; two daughters, Becky (Steve) McMahan and Karen Jester; a grandson, Cassidy (Taylor) McMahan; two sisters, Betty (Glenn) Trivette and Wanda (Dwight) Cass; four brothers, Bruce (Pat) Hinshaw, Rex Hinshaw, Gary (Belva) Hinshaw, and Bob (Clara) Hinshaw; a sister-in-law, Betty Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for their loving and devoted care and for making a difficult situation more bearable. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011.
