Curtis Grady "Pete" Hinshaw EAST BEND - Curtis Grady "Pete" Hinshaw, 76, of 2632 Nebo Road, East Bend, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at his home. He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Yadkin County to Oscar and Florence Hobson Hinshaw. He was a retired employee with Hanes Hosiery with 41 years service. He was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ott and Florence Hobson Hinshaw; a brother, Steve Hinshaw; and a sister, Ruby Nell Hinshaw Benton. Surviving are his wife, Betty Gough Hinshaw of the home; one daughter, Kelly (David) Speer of East Bend; four brothers, Bob (Clara) Hinshaw of Yadkinville; Bruce (Pat) Hinshaw, Rex Hinshaw and Gary (Belva) Hinshaw, all of East Bend; three sisters, Joyce (Howard) Jester, Betty (Glen) Trivette, and Wanda (Dwight) Cass, all of Boonville; two grandchildren, Mitch and Jenna Speer, both of East Bend. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Richmond Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 10346 of Yadkinville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Memorials may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church building fund, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011 or to Hospice of Winston-Salem. The family would like to give a special thanks to family, friends, Debbie, Donna and Gordon of Hospice of Winston-Salem. Huff Funeral Home in East Bend is serving the family.

Betty Jo Gough Hinshaw, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late William Charles Gough and Nellie Leona Cranfill Gough. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother "Nanny". Betty worked at Hanes Knitting for 42 years and was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years (married, April 21, 1962), Curtis Grady "Pete" Hinshaw; sisters, Mildred (Frank) Bottoms, Margaret (Rob) Phelps; brothers, Clarence (Pearl) Gough, Homer Gough, Thurmond (Edna Rae) Gough, Richard (Avaline) Gough; brothers and sisters in laws, Ed Edwards, Joyce Jester, Ruby Nell and Thad Benton, Steve Hinshaw, Frankie Hinshaw. Surviving are her daughter, Kelly and husband David Speer; grandchildren, Mitchell Speer and Jenna Speer; sister, Ruth Edwards; brothers and sisters in laws, Vivian Gough, Betty and Glenn Trivette, Bob and Clara Hinshaw, Bruce and Pat Hinshaw, Rex Hinshaw, Wanda and Dwight Cass, Gary and Belva Hinshaw, Howard Jester; many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Richmond Hill Baptist Church, by the Rev. Will Hemric. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
