Lydia H. Manns

THOMASVILLE - Lydia Velna Hinshaw Manns, 91, of GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement and formerly of Old U.S. 64 East, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999 at GrayBrier.  

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Care Funeral Home, Thomasville, with the Rev. Bonnie Harris and the Rev. Jim Banks officiating.  Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Denton.  

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Arthur William Manns and a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Trinity.  

Surviving are daughters, Thelma Byerly of Seagrove, Louise Newson of Denton, Rebecca Hoover of Reidsville; sons, William David Manns and Bobby Manns, both of Trinity; brother Clarence P. Hinshaw of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.  

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.  

Memorials may be made to Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 199 Tabernacle Church Road, Trinity, N.C. 27370.

Mrs. Lydia Velna Hinshaw Manns, 91, of Graybrier Nursing and Retirement home formerly of Old U.S. 64 E died at 11:04 p.m. Dec. 8, 1999.  

She was born July 27, 1908, in Randolph County, a daughter of Darius Marshall and Lydia Luck Hinshaw.  She was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Randolph County.  On Nov. 7, 1931, she married Arthur William Manns, who preceded her in death April 7, 1976.  

Surviving are three daughters, Ms. Thelma Byerly of Seagrove, Mrs. Ronnie (Louise) Newsom of Denton and Mrs. Donnie (Rebecca) Hoover of Reidsville; two sons, William David Manns and Bobby Manns, both of Trinity; one brother, Clarence P. Hinshaw of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Care Chapel by the Rev. Bonnie Harris and Rev. Jim Banks.  Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Denton.  Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
