The wedding ceremony will be in Campbell, California, which is 8 miles from San Jose International Airport (airport code: SJC) and 40 miles from San Francisco Airport (SFO). The wedding banquet will be in Palo Alto, which is 18 miles from Campbell, 13 miles from San Jose Airport, and 21 miles from San Francisco Airport.
We prefer flying into San Jose since it is a more manageable airport, is closer to South Bay locations, and does have a large selection of direct flights and major carriers. San Francisco is undergoing a lot of construction, but there have also been some major improvements along with that. Further away, across the bay, is Oakland airport, which you may find cheaper, but a much longer drive.
The wedding ceremony begins at 11am and the banquet will probably wind down by 4pm. It may be possible to catch a flight out that evening, depending on your destination of course.
If you are participating in the wedding ceremony, there is a rehearsal at the Ainsley House scheduled for Friday evening from 7pm-8pm. If you are in the ceremony and can not make the rehearsal, that is perfectly fine. We will make sure you know what you need to do.
Public transportation in the Bay Area is not what it should be for the amount of people that live here. There is a commuter rail line and county bus lines, but most people depend on cars. There are shared shuttles from the airports that are cheaper than taxies, and your hotel will often provide free airport transportation. Please let us know if you would like a ride to or from the airport or if you would like to carpool with someone to and from the banquet restaurant. We are here to help make your journey easier, after all, we're thrilled you're coming to see us!
We have reserved a block of rooms for August 17-20 at the Campbell Inn, which is about two tenths of a mile from the ceremony location. The group rate is $99/night. However, if you plan to extend your trip (the San Francisco Bay area is a wonderful place for a vacation), you may wish to find lodging more suited to your plans. There are many hotels of all types around the SF Bay Area. Please feel free to contact us if you need any advice or assistance with your travel and lodging plans.
