Using Lynx, how to download source through a link

Note: In Lynx, you can't download the source for the current page you're looking at. You can download *only* some other page which some link points to. So to download the source of a WebPage you must either download via the link before clicking on that link to go into that page, or after you've gone into that page you must use leftarrow to back out of that page before you can then download the source you backed out of.

So, assuming you are on some HTML page (not a .txt page because .txt pages don't contan any links), first you make sure the currently-selected link points to the file you want to download, using up/down-arrow or tab to move the cursor to the desired link, and then:

- Press the 'd' key. You'll then see all the usual stuff that occurs when fetching the WebPage from the server, except that when the page is all downloaded to Lynx instead of seeing the rendered version of that page you'll see something like this:

Standard download options:
   Save to disk
- Move the cursor (via up/down-arrow or tab) to that link, and click on it. You'll now see, at the bottom of that same screen:

Enter a filename: 174111-FTC-CrackDown.html
Note: It'll have the default file name which you can edit to use a different file name.

- When you are satisfied with the file name, press RETURN to actually write that source to the file.

You're be back at the intermediate page offering you to save to file again. But you already did that, so now just press leftarrow to get back to looking at the page that had that link

Here's a link to practice on. Try to download this file to your disk: FTC to crack down on spam! .
