- Currently (2014) adjourned Honinbo game#4, formated for cellphone: here
- To play Go (a.k.a. wei-qi, baduk) on IGS:
telnet 210.155.158.200 6969
- Once you're logged in there, the command "stats REM" shows my info there, but points back here for more info.
- sgf files showing some interesting games: here.
- Yahoo! Mail stopped working correctly about 2008, floods me with 200+ spam per day but provides me with no way to learn the IP number where the spam came from, so I don't check my e-mail there, so don't send me e-mail there because I won't see it.
Update 2013.Jun.11: I ran a script that automatically logs into my
account and shows statistics: 126124 total, 122652 unread. I really really don't have time to look through more than a hundred thousand messages trying to find one (1) message you might have sent me there.
Any e-mail address I post in a public place, even IGS, gets flooded with spam, so instead I protect my e-mail address with a PHP script that asks you fill in a missing word. Go to TinyURL.Com/uh3t and click on "Contact me" to do that.
But for quick exchanges, see mobile.twitter.com/CalRobert instead.
- I don't currently have a Go client for IGS, so I have to TELNET there and use verbose mode. Echo is disabled, so to play moves in a game I need to type letter-number coordinates into a local Note Pad window and then copy&paste from there to the TELNET window, which takes an extra 15 seconds per move, so I need at least 15 minutes per 25 moves in byo-yomi.
Update 2011.Aug.29: I tried telnet through my Unix shell to IGS rather than directly from dialup, and that way echo isn't disabled, so maybe I will need only 12 minutes per 25 moves.
Update 2012.Dec.21: I downloaded JagoClient, but it doesn't make any sound when the opponent makes a move, so it's not suitable for playing a timed game on IGS.
Update 2013.Feb.16: I downloaded glGo, which makes a nice sound when any move is played, but crashes frequently when trying to observe a "review" such as Cornel analyzing a live Honinbo game. Also I haven't figured out yet how to use it to play a game using automatch to make sure the handicap is correct.
Update 2013.May.17: Idea for Go client so that you can see whose turn it is even if you couldn't hear the sound at moment of play.
Update 2013.Jun.24-25: I downloaded GoPanda2 stable, which isn't stable, then GoPanda2 latest beta which isn't latest, allowed it to upgrade to very latest version, and still it doesn't work. See
details
of my bug complaints.
Update 2013.Jul.05: I downloaded ViZiGO, which works, but doesn't make any sound when stone played. Then I downloaded CompoGo, which works and DOES make sound when stone played, and I was able to finish observing Gosei game with it, so it seems to be a winner.

- P.S. Everyone please join TinyURL.Com/NewEco, or at least read about it and give me constructive feedback.
Update 2012: The last of the free PHP/MySQL hosts where I had my accounts went down, so NewEco is no longer operational until I find time to locate another free PHP/MySQL server, or somebody donates me an account on their own server, and then I can re-install NewEco there. But you-all can still read my documentation and give me feedback and maybe encourage me to take the time to get it up&running again.
