> Sounds like the only thing that you want to do out of > my list is to listen to CD's. and maybe go for a walk in the park. It's just a city park, and it's too far for me to comfortably walk to there. Where I lived in Mountain View near Moffett Field, it was not as far to get to a nature trail, which was actually worth walking along, because of wild blackberries as well as stuff to see. But here the park isn't worth walking. Perhaps you can try to learn my favorite board game. Or maybe you can volunteer to help me sort my e-mail. Or maybe you can watch the videos that I recorded, originally to show to my children and a girlfriend, but lost my children and haven't had a girlfriend. Or maybe you can let me teach you how to program computers, and then we can work on a project together. Or maybe you can help me find somebody who will hire me. Or maybe you can show me how to find registered sexual offenders in the local area, or other information I can't find myself. Why don't you find somebody who is giving away their very old Macintosh, still working but useless for going on InterNet, not a Macintosh Plus (like I had) because it has no fan so it tends to overheat and burn out the electronics and need repair every couple years or so, but a slightly newer computer, one that came out just after the Macintosh Plus, sometime around 1995 when they started putting fans in the computers to keep them from overheating, something ilke a Macintosh SE etc. that is all self-contained in a single easy-to-carry unit. Then you can bring it here with you, and I can show you how to set it up to use as a DEC VT-100 emulator. Then you can get an account on a shell machine that has dialups in your area. Then you won't need to go to the public library just to exchange e-mail and post to discussion groups such as newsgroups and Yahoo! Groups. My ISP has these dialups in your area: (916) 418-0299 Sacramento North (916) 365-0199 Folsom (916) 903-0199 Fair Oaks Are any of those local from where you are? Try each of the *local* numbers when you get home, and verify that each puts up a modem carrier. (If some of those aren't local, don't waste your money trying those.)
