Automated some office paper tasks with scripts and C programs on AIX computers. 08-96 to 08-98 Integration Analyst with the large HMO Kaiser Permanente. Made statistical and synchronization reports on data between differing database systems such as Sybase, Comtec, Mumps, Magic, Arev, and Cactus. Most of these ran on HPUX. Typically wrote applications in shell, awk, SQL and C. Managed new project installations on a scheduling program called AutoSys. Maintained and ran the company's cost management information batch system for Georgia. I came of age here as a Unix engineer. 07-95 to 05-96 System Engineer at Pipeline Communications. Manufactured and maintained SCO and Linux hosts that receive software registrations by 1-800 dial-up, ftp, html, email, etc. Also custom formatted and encrypted registration data for clients. I gained great experience with command line utilities, scripting, and valuable skills maintaining Unix servers. 04-95 to 07-95 Short contract with Equifax EDI. C, awk, shell, SCO installation. It was simple, and short term work, but I am grateful to have gained experience in the culture and organization of a large company. 12-93 to 04-95 JHK & Associates, Programmer / Analyst. Maintained, enhanced, and ported a widely used traffic control system. It was written on DEC VAX in C, DCL, and Fortran, and is probably still in use. Enhanced and debugged live systems that control traffic lights in cities around the country. EDUCATION Sybase Fasttrack and Sybase Open Client/Server courses, one week each.
