Eventually, when NewEco is fully developed, it'll be possible for people whose time is worth much more than $8/hr to pay money to NewEco to directly purchase labor funds, rather than perform labor per the usual model. The exchange rate of $8/hr will be used for such direct purchases of labor-funds.
Such money can be paid into the general fund of NewEco, whereupon I can choose to use it to pay for premium hosting services, or to pay myself for the time I spend writing more software to implement more of NewEco, or to pay other software programmers that I hire to aid me.
But alternately, somebody purchasing labor funds can put "strings" on the money, such that only certain classes of people are allowed to receive that money. For example, a charity wishing to help people in Africa or Haiti could designate the money to be available only for people of those countries, to "cash out" their earned labor funds at that same rate of $8/hr. Thus instead of offering free handouts to "needy" people, they could offer paying jobs to people in those regions. Thus their money would be given to whomever performs the work to earn the labor funds, relieving the charity of the need to interview needy people and spend their time deciding who is to receive money. Furthermore the charity can impose the additional restriction that some money can be used only for cupons redeemable for specific goods or services, such as mosquito nets, water purifiers, water collection&storage equipment, food from local farmers, etc.
Likewise, a store chain such as Safeway could donate funds that can be used only to purchase "gift cards", redeemable only for retail goods at Safeway stores. And a local government could donate funds that can be redeemed only by residents of that jurisdiction who are legally qualified to work in the USA and who are documented as otherwise unemployed and hence in need of money. Thus instead of paying unemployment benefits, the government would give out money for people who actually provide useful services to other users of NewEco.
Note the advantage of feeding charity/store/government money through NewEco instead of hiring people directly. Hiring directly requires that each recipient have skills that are of direct use to the funding source, or that the funding source make up fake work that is no value to anyone. But funding through NewEco means that the person earning the money or mosquito net or gift card etc. need only have skills of use to somebody somewhere in NewEco. Thus the money supplied pays for labor funds, which are used to purchase labor from somebody not necessarily qualified to receive that money, then that person uses the labor funds to purchase labor from somebody else, who uses the labor funds to purchase labor from somebody else, and the labor funds keep circulating through the may users of NewEco, until finally at the end of a long chain of funds transfers somebody eligible to "cash out" the funds does work for somebody, gets the funds, and cashes out.
Thus the source of funding always gets something truly of value to them in return for the labor funds they purchased, even if nobody eligible for the funds is able to do anything the funder needs, and the person who finally cashes out the funds has done something of value to somebody in NewEco even if he/she is unable to do anything directly of value to the funder. Thus nobody ever has to pay for fake work that's not really of value to them, and nobody ever has to perform fake work to get funds and thus feel like they are just "jumping through hoops" to receive charity, rather each knows his/her labors really are of value to somebody, and can feel self-respect of doing a good job and getting paid for it.
The winning thing about NewEco is that people doing labor in return for services, people paying cash or gift cards etc. in return for for services, and people doing labor to get paid (cash, gift cards, mosquito nets), all co-exist within a single unified mechanism, with labor funds changing hands all over the place so that there's no need for funding sources and cashing out to be directly linked, and there's no need for anyone to have a source of funding before they can hire others to work for them.
