PLEASE NOTE: Joining INCH hikes is entirely voluntary and participants assume the full risks associated with the activities. It is each hiker's responsibility to ensure that s/he is in sufficient fitness and health to participate in a strenuous hike, with the appropriate water, food, clothing, first aid, and navigation equipment for the conditions. INCH is an informal group of friends and acquaintances who gather voluntarily for their common interest in hiking. INCH and the individual hike organizers make no representation or warranties about the quality, safety, or supervision of these activities.

In plain English, our INCH hikes are pretty tough. Many people who have hiked with other organizations say that our hikes are considerably more demanding. We hike at a fast pace and don't take many breaks to stop and smell the roses. If you are joining us for the first time, it is highly recommended that you start out with a Level 1 or Level 2 hike. Many newcomers have just showed up to a hike unprepared and paid the price (we've had to have people airlifted out). If the hikes listed above are posted as Level 3 or higher, you really need to be an experienced long-distance hiker in order to attempt it.
