BURNSALL AND CONISTONE PARISH RECORDS

Burnsall and Conistone-cum-Kilnsey (see map) were the ancestral villages of many of the Wrathall family. Both are in the parish of Burnsall (see Ancestral Villages). The parish records for these villages contain a great deal of information that can be used to construct links between the various branches of the Wrathall family tree. Bill Wrathall of Inuvik has provided information from transcripts of these records that can be interpreted in the form of the descendancies outlined below.
Bill Wrathall writes:

"Much of my genealogical information comes from Kenneth Ball, who is a researcher in Huddersfield [Yorkshire, England] and a member of the Association of Genealogical and Record Agents. He has researched Conistone and Burnsall parish registers up to 1812, [and has sent] seven pages of [handwritten notes of excerpts from] parish entries starting from 1567 for any reference to the surname Wrathall."
[Kenneth did the work in the Leeds Central Library on April 12 and 13, 1995.]

You can view the Burnsall records for 1813-1900 HERE

Kenneth Ball writes in his preface to his notes:

"[These notes are] confirmation of entries found in the I.G.I. [International Genealogical Indices] from printed transcripts of the parish registers and Bishops' Transcripts of BURNSALL and CONISTONE."

The printed transcript of the parish register for Conistone covers the period from 1752-1811. Dates of parents are mostly conjectural (?), but are estimated in case it is possible to establish links with other parish records.

Note: in July 2004, Frank Shiers , who can be reached at frank.shiers(at)atosorigin(dot)com, asked about Ann Hitching, who married William Wrathall on 18 Feb 1793 in Burnsall:
I think that this Ann may have been the youngest daughter of Nicholas Hitching and Ann Metcalf, who married at Burnsall on 14 Jan 1761.
I am interested in
1. Whether you have any information supporting this hypothesis
2. Whether you are aware of any living descendants of William & Ann.

FYI - Nicholas Hitching and Ann Metcalf are my G4 Grandparents.
