Radio host makes obscene gesture while in sensitivity training

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- A radio talk show host suspended for his on-air remarks about the Rev. Jesse Jackson made an obscene gesture to a newspaper photographer while leaving a sensitivity training seminar.

A photo of WSPD-AM's Scott Sloan making the gesture was published in The Blade on Wednesday.

Sloan commented to the reporter as he left the training session, ``EXPLETIVE DELETED, you EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED, EXPLETIVE DELETED. EXPLETIVE DELETED like you that EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED in EXPLETIVE DELETED for EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED. Just looking at you EXPLETIVE DELETED my EXPLETIVE DELETED, in EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED! EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED. EXPLETIVE DELETED. I EXPLETIVE DELETED want to EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED, and your mom EXPLETIVE DELETED, and your sister EXPLETIVE DELETED my EXPLETIVE DELETED, EXPLETIVE DELETED but EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED. Of all the EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED I've EXPLETIVE DELETED, you EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED EXPLETIVE DELETED.''

The seminar was also attended by other employees at Clear Channel Communications Inc.'s five Toledo stations. Company officials did not return messages Wednesday.

Sloan was ordered by station managers to complete sensitivity training after his Nov. 17 show.

During the show, Sloan said Jackson intervened in a Decatur, Ill., dispute over suspended students to be a martyr like the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

King was shot to death in 1968 while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tenn. Sloan called the Lorraine Hotel in Miami, Ohio, to ask if the rooms had balconies.

``All we need now is a shooter,'' he said on the air.
