Writers battle for title of most bizarre book

LONDON (Reuters) - ``The Romance of Leprosy'' competed on Thursday with ``On Cancer of the Scrotum in Chimney Sweeps and Others'' as the most bizarre book title of all time.

But they could be run close by ``Do-it-yourself Coffins for Pets and People'' and ``Hand Grenade Throwing as a College Sport.''

Authors Russell Ash and Brian Lake have compiled a list of the world's weirdest book titles.

They offer a section on inappropriate authors with ``Motorcycling for Beginners'' by Geoffrey Carless, ``Death in Early America'' by Margaret Coffin, and ``Niagara Falls'' by I. P. Freely.

Another category is ``Books to make the heart sink'' with prime contender being William Tebb and Edward Vollum for ``Premature Burial and How It May Be Prevented.''
