Hot, but cooler than our last visit. Took Bay Area Ridge Trail from Little Mountain to the Burdell summit and came back on different trails compared to our prior visit. We ran into David A coming the opposite direction near the summit of Burdell.
Back at Little Mountain we continued on the Bay Area Ridge Trail to its current terminus at the top of Indian Tree Open Space Preserve, closing out two additional "segments" of the Bay Area Ridge Trail challenge (three for the day). Ran into Sophie and Giulia coming up the wrong way in Indian Tree.
Apparently every other hiking club either holds hands the whole hike or only does out-and-back hikes, as a rather high percentage of people have no method of tell which direction a track goes (everyone else has multiple solutions. . .but tend to be the planning types). Oh well, as long as all the correct trails are covered, it's good for this hike.
On the way back, I hiked into Verissimo Hills Preserve to check it out. Nothing special, but it did dump me into the local neighborhood, where a majority of lawns were interestingly xeriscaped.
David A cut the hike short, being the first person in Occasional history to do most of two hikes and have nothing to show for it. Jarda and Kendra started much later and focused on the Nifty Ninety peak and, no doubt, geocaches. So it was 9 + 3 hikers at the post-party.
