Command Prompt (or Cygwin) commands
ipconfig /all ### get info about networking (NT/2000/XP only)
winipcfg ### get info about networking (95/98/Me only)
nbtstat ### NetBIOS statistics & info
Using smbclient to access windows share from linux machine
You need to know
- machine - name of the windows machine
- username - name you use to login to windows machine
- password - password you use to login to windows machine
- Workgroup - workgroup of windows machine
You can find windows workgroup by typing 'nbtstat -n' in a command prompt
(or cygwin shell) on the windows machine. Look for the 'Name' corresponding to
'Type' of 'GROUP'. The machine name is the name corresponding to
type 'UNIQUE'
Type
smbclient -L <machine> -U <username> -W <workgroup>
You will be prompted for the password.
