The Making Of Asteroids
from - Issue 86 Retro Gamer, The Essential Guide To Classic Games

Retro Gamer - The Making Of Asteroids"Asteroids is a classic man-against-machine game. It was simple to learn, obvious what you had to do and you could improve quickly, but however good you got, the game was always one step ahead."

Forty Years of Lunar Lander
from - Technologizer, A Smarter Take On Tech

Technologizer - 40 Years Of Lunar Lander"Lunar Lander games abound on every platform. Along with Tetris and Pac-Man, the game - in which your mission is to safely maneuver your lunar module onto the moon's surface - is one of the most widely cloned computer games of all time."

The Sharper Image
from - May 2008 issue GameRoom Magazine

GameRoom May 2008 Issue"I recently had the pleasure of interviewing former Atari electrical engineer and programmer Howard Delman. Howard’s career spans more than 30 years, starting with his stint with the most historic video game manufacturer of them all. In this, the first of multiple columns covering Howard’s history and contributions to the industry, we look at his pivotal role in the development of Atari’s vector graphics system in the late 70s."

Howard Delman Takes Us Inside Atari
from June 2008 issue GameRoom Magazine

GameRoom May 2008 Issue"Howard Delman grew up around electronics. His father was a TV repairman, and Howard was building radios and amplifiers before he was a teenager. He earned money in high school by repairing televisions and radios for his parents. However, his real love was science.

'I always said that I wanted to be a scientist’,Delman said. ’The chemistry lab that I assembled in my bedroom would probably qualify today as a toxic waste Superfund site. I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy NY, and received a BS degree in Chemistry.' "

Howard Delman: Beyond Atari
from July 2008 issue GameRoom Magazine

GameRoom May 2008 Issue"By the time the early 1980s rolled around, there was quite a bit of discontent among the programmers and engineers at Atari. Although it was their products that made Atari the fastest growing company in history up to that point, some felt that they weren’t getting the money and recognition that they deserved. As a result, many of Atari’s most talented engineers began to leavethe company in search of greener pastures."
