Born 1726, Saybrook, Connecticut.2
In his youth Edward engaged in the Indian Wars, and was for a time a captive to the Indians. His sufferings at this time affected his mind, and in later years he was at times partially deranged, and when in that condition he delighted to perform Indian feats for the amusement of his grandchildren.2 In 1768 he was admitted as Freedman of Saybrook, Connecticut.2 He was also a Revolutionary War soldier, although his regiment or record of his services is unknown.2 After the Revolution, he removed to Stephentown, New York.2

Temperance Doty, born 1760, Saybrook, Connecticut (baptised May 4 1760); married a -- Sheffield; lived in New York City.
Edward Doty, born 1764, Saybrook, Connecticut (baptised May 27 1764); died 1796, Freehold or East Durham, New York; married Rebecca Willard, Dec 25 1791, Saybrook, Connecticut (two daughters: one died in infancy, the other married a -- Southerland).
Lucinda Doty, born 1766, Saybrook, Connecticut (baptised Aug 3 1766); married -- Owen; lived in Rensselaerville, New York.
He then married - Dennison, after 1767.2 (a widow Dennison).2 No children from this marriage.2
He then married Elizabeth Gladding.2 Married Elizabeth Gladding late in life.2 No children from this marriage.2
Edward Doty died Mar 13 1806, Stephentown, New York.2
