He was recorded as 6' tall, medium build, brown eyes, brown hair.6

On Apr 6 1922 Hurshel Henshaw applied for a U.S. passport in New York, New York. He declared he was born February 27th 1890 in Honey Grove, Texas, and was then residing in Ardmore, Oklahoma, occupied as a driller; his father was William Henshaw, born in Kentucky, then deceased. He declared he intended to depart from the Port of New York on Apr 8 1922, sailing on the Red "D" line, planning to visit Venezuela on "oil business" for no more than one year. He was recorded as age 32, 6'0" tall, brown eyes, brown hair, high forehead, straight nose, large mouth, square chin, dark complexion. His application was attested by a W.A. O'Neil, a driller of Basin, Wyoming, who swore that he had personally known Hurshel for 23 years.7
On Dec 16 1922 Bertha Henshaw, accompanied "by her minor daughter", was issued a U.S. passport. She declared she was born Aug 6th 1891 in Columbia, Tennessee, and her father, Bill Horn, was born in Tennessee and he was then residing in Holdenville, Oklahoma; Bertha declared she was also then residing in Holdenville, Oklahoma, occupied as a housewife. She declared she intended to leave from the port of New York (date and ship unspecified), intending to visit Venezuela to "join husband". She was recorded as age 31, 5' 5" tall, blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion.7

Transient Dies in Hospital Here Monday John H. Henshaw, a transient, died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk Monday, at 12:30 p.m. He had been hospitalized there for the past two months suffering from a kidney ailment.
Mr. Henshaw was born February 27, 1891, and a wife and daughter survive him in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Funeral arrangements are pending awaiting word from relatives.
Hurshel's funeral was reported in "The Lusk Herald" (Lusk, Wyoming) on July 29, 1954:8
Funeral Services Held For John H. Henshaw Funeral serivces were held for John H Henshaw, 62, at the Chapel of the Peet Mortuary at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, with the Reverend Jacob Nein officiating. Soft organ accompaniment was played by Mrs. Judson P. Watson. Pallbearers were Robert Taylor, Bob Mandus, Michael J. Miller, and Raymond Lee, all of Lusk, and interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mr. Henshaw, who was an oil driller by trade, died of a chronic illnss at the Spencer Hospital July 19, after having been hospitalized there since May 13.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and a daughter in Tulsa, Okla. A sister and two brothers reside in Huntsville, Alabama.
In 1976 Bertha was living in/near Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma.12
